In Italy the propensity to invest in new technologies for working natural stone remained very high even in 2023. According to data processed by the CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center, in fact, last year stone sector companies acquired new machines, installations and equipment worth more than 426 million euros, up 3.9% from 2022 and +38.7% from 2019.
The technological investments stone companies made in 2023 accounted for 14.2% of the total worth of production, almost double the share registered, for example, in the Italian ceramics sector, where investments in new technologies accounted for only 7.7% of total revenue.
