The SURFACE DESIGN SHOW in London – held from February 4 to 6 at the Business Design Centre in Islington, in the center of the British capital’s design district – was again this year a prestigious promotional showcase for Italian marbles, granites, travertines and other natural stones.

For this edition of the London event CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE – in collaboration with ICE-Agency and support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) – again organized an important collective of Italian stone sector companies, which was a big success in image terms and with the public.

The Italian Stone Pavilion at the SURFACE DESIGN SHOW 2025 featured the presence of 19 companies representing the finest Italian stone products: BASALTINA – BATTOCCHIO – BAUCE BRUNO & C. – BLUE – G.B. BASALTITE – GAMMASTONE – INDUSTRIA LO BIANCO MARMI E GRANITI – MARGRAF – MARMERIA ITALIANA – MARMI COLORATI COPPOLA – MARMI FAEDO – MARMI GHIRARDI – MARMOMACCHINE INTERNATIONAL – MP TREATMENT – PI.MAR. – SANTUCCI GROUP – SERAFINI MARMI – SILVESTRI MARMI – YELLOW STONE.

Inside the Italian area CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE and ICE-Agency also provided a welcoming Meeting Point Italia, with informative and assistance services for Italian companies exhibiting at or visiting the show. Great pleasure with the qualified Italian turnout was also expressed by the ICE Agency London’s director, Giovanni Sacchi, who, together with the Honorary President of CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE, Flavio Marabelli, visited the Italian Stone Pavilion and greeted the exhibiting companies.

We remind readers that the SURFACE DESIGN SHOW is the main event in the United Kingdom devoted to surfaces/coverings for interiors and exteriors as well as a privileged showcase for presenting new materials and product and design innovations to an extremely qualified public of architects and interior designers. This year there were more than 180 companies exhibiting and some 5,500 visitors flocked to the Business Design Centre during the show’s 3-day run.

At the SURFACE DESIGN SHOW 2025 the team of companies participating in the Italian collective arrived with the positivity of the latest statistics processed by the CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center confirming that even in the first 11 months of 2024 the United Kingdom was a top buyer for Italian stone products, with 100 million euros worth of imports. Specifically, in that period there was 9.1% growth in Italy’s exports of finished and semi-finished stone products to the UK from the previous year, with sales worth 60 million euros. Good signs also came, in the first 11 months of 2024, from sales of Italian machines, installations and equipment for processing natural stone materials, with UK imports up by 21.5% for worth of 42 million.
