From March 16 to 19 CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE participated in the 2025 edition of the XIAMEN STONE FAIR, one of the top events in the stone sector globally, held in Xiamen, China. This year the show had more than 2,000 exhibitors from 40 countries displaying on an area of 191,000 square meters, and attendance by more than 150,000 visitors from all over the world.
As usual, for the XIAMEN STONE FAIR CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE coordinated and promoted an important Italia Area, featuring leading brands in the stone and techno-stone sector. As is customary, the Italia Area was also the venue for an institutional lounge/Meeting Point Italia which, with its time-tested welcome and support services and appreciated catering service, was a valuable reference point for the companies and operators at the show, both Italian and international.
On the statistical level, we mention that, according to data processed by the CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center, last year the total worth of Italian stone and techno-stone exports to China amounted to nearly 260 million euros. In 2024 the Asian giant was again the top market for raw Italian stone materials, which reached worth of 229 million – about 50% of Italy’s block exports -, an increase of 27.8% from the previous year. The finished and semi-finished stone products segment also did well, with sales to the Chinese market worth 18.2 million euros. At the same time, China’s imports of machinery and equipment Made in Italy for extracting and processing natural stones showed a 45% increase from 2023, reaching worth of 10 million euros.
