For EXPO CIHAC 2024 – to be held in Mexico City from October 9 to 11 – ICE-Agency, in collaboration with CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE, has organized two collective areas, one for Italian companies producing natural stones and the other for Italian makers of machinery, lines, equipment, tools and complementary products for extracting and processing them.
EXPO CIHAC is the reference show in Latin America devoted to innovations that broadly concern the building, architecture and interior design industries. In the 2023 edition the tradeshow welcomed more than 18,000 visitors and more than 500 exhibitor companies.
In 2023 the Mexican building industry’s revenue was worth more than $US120 billion, with a 17.2% increase from 2023. Building is one of the driving sectors of the Mexican economy and the most important in value terms in all Latin America.
According to CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center data, in 2023 Mexico increased its imports from Italy of finished and semi-finished stone products by 12.3% for worth in euros close to 20 million. Overall, Mexico’s imports of natural stones in 2023 were worth 155 million euros and consisted almost entirely of finished and semi-finished products. Also in 2023, Mexico was among the top twenty markets for machines, lines and technologies Made in Italy for quarrying and working stone materials, for total worth of 20.5 million euros.
